For local service businesses · AI receptionist

Answer missed calls, even when you are busy.

It picks up when you cannot, asks what the caller needs, and sends it to you in writing with the whole conversation attached.

Launch starts at $299/month, including 200 voice minutes.

That number is our own line, answered by the same system. Call it and hear how it handles an enquiry.

Carrtel's AI receptionist answers the calls your team cannot take. It says it is an assistant, takes the caller's name, number and what they need, and sends it to you in writing. You keep your number, callers can ask for a person, and plans are month to month from $299 a month plus $299 setup. Hear it: (825) 425-5242.

What an AI receptionist costs in Canada, compared

Is this for me?

Four moments a call goes unanswered.

It covers the calls that were going to become voicemail, not the ones your team would have picked up anyway.

Outside working hours

Evenings, weekends and holidays, when the alternative is a voicemail you hear the next morning.

While the line is busy

A second caller getting an engaged tone is a caller ringing someone else instead.

During the job itself

On a roof, under a sink, with a customer in the chair — the times when picking up is the wrong call.

When everyone rings at once

The morning after a storm, or after an ad goes out, when there are more calls than people.

Interactive example

What does the AI receptionist do on a call?

It says it is an assistant, asks what the caller needs, takes their name, number and job, and either books a time or takes the request for your team. It does not make up prices, and anything it was not set up for goes to a person. Pick a scenario, make the caller's choices, and follow the path it takes. A worked example of how a build is set up.

The office closed four hours ago. Otherwise this is a voicemail heard in the morning.

    What you get

    What lands in your records.

    • Their name and the number to call back on
    • What the job is, in their own words
    • The address, where that matters
    • How urgent it is, and whether it needs someone today
    • The whole conversation, written out and attached
See how it is reported back to you

    What it does not do

    The boundaries, stated up front.

Each of these is a design decision. Together they are what make the line safe to put in front of your customers.

    It identifies itself

The line says it is an assistant taking details for the team, so a caller knows who they are speaking to from the first sentence.

It does not make up prices

Quotes come from a person. It can read out a price you have already published, but it will not guess at a job it cannot see.

It hands over rather than guesses

Anything outside what it was set up for becomes a flagged message with the conversation attached, so a person picks it up already knowing what was said.

It does not replace whoever answers your phone

When your team is free, calls reach them the way they do now. This covers the gap, not the job.

    Questions

    AI receptionist: common questions

Yes. The usual arrangement forwards unanswered calls from the number you already advertise, so what is printed on your van, your listings and your invoices stays exactly as it is.

A greeting you approve, in a voice you choose, that explains it is taking details for the team. You review the greeting, the questions and the routing rules before the line goes live, and you can change them afterwards.

Yes, when you want it to. On the Growth and Scale plans it offers free times from Google Calendar, which connects directly, books one and sends a confirmation. Calendly, Acuity, Square Appointments and Jobber are not connected directly yet, so it takes the request and sends your own booking link. Some businesses prefer it to capture the enquiry and leave booking to a person — both are normal, and it is a setting rather than a rebuild.

They are kept with the enquiry so your team can read what was said. How long they are kept is up to you, and callers are told they are speaking to an assistant.

Plans start at $299 a month plus a $299 setup and include 200 voice minutes. The larger plans include 350 or 500 minutes. Month to month.

You will see exactly what was said, because every call is written out. We change the wording against what people actually say — the first two weeks of real calls usually teach us more than the whole setup.

    Hear it answer.

Our own line runs the same system. Call it and hear how it handles a real enquiry, then put it on your number.
